España iguala la media europea en teletrabajo

Cataluña consolida el trabajo virtual manteniendo su nivel de 2020 a 2021.

El trabajo remoto se afianza en España y se empareja a los niveles de Europa. Según los datos del reciente estudio realizado por la escuela de negocios TBS Education, en el año 2020, se duplicó el porcentaje de población teletrabajadora, tanto en España como en la Unión Europea, donde en ambos casos superaron el 12%. El confinamiento de 2020 aumentó el teletrabajo en 155% en España comparado con 2019. En esta misma línea, el aumento en porcentaje de trabajadores de 2019 a 2020 en España fue mayor al aumento en Europa que fue de 128%.

El Dr. Edgar Sánchez, profesor colaborador de TBS Education en Barcelona y experto en Comportamiento del Consumidor y Neuromarketing, revela que la adopción del trabajo desde el hogar por la sociedad y empresas españolas es fundamental para el desarrollo y el progreso. Para los empleados también amplía el abanico de opciones laborales que no existen en otras condiciones, ya sea por situaciones personales, ubicación geográfica o necesidades especiales, por ejemplo, movilidad limitada.

Radiografía de trabajo remoto por regiones en España

En el 2020, todas las regiones de España superaron el 8% de las personas trabajando en casa.  La región ‘NORESTE’ del país es aquella con menor cambio en teletrabajo durante este periodo, con un aumento de tan solo 1.3 puntos porcentuales de 2019 a 2021 (aproximadamente 61 mil personas más). En cambio, la región de Madrid es la que más aumentó en trabajo desde casa, con un valor de 11.5 puntos porcentuales. Durante el confinamiento, Madrid alcanzó un porcentaje de teletrabajo de casi el 20%, alrededor de 7 puntos porcentuales más que la Unión Europea y la media de España, y 11.7 puntos porcentuales más que la región ‘NORESTE’ que es la que menos trabajo en casa tiene.

En segundo lugar, Cataluña consolida el trabajo virtual a nivel estructural, ya que es la única autonomía que mantuvo el porcentaje de teletrabajo entre 2020 y 2021 (12.6%). En casi todas las demás autonomías se redujo. En cambio, de las 27 autonomías de España, solamente aumentaron el 2021 respecto a 2020,  Canarias (con un crecimiento de 5.9% a 7.4%) y Cantabria (con un aumento de 5.2% a 5.7%). Con ello, se multiplica por cuatro la diferencia entre autonomías con mayor y menor nivel de trabajo a distancia: Madrid (16.6%) y País Vasco (4.8%). Además, Asturias y Baleares se mantienen entre las 5 primeras autonomías con más proporción de teletrabajo entre el 2019 y 2021. Por otro lado, Canarias, Murcia, Navarra y La Rioja son las autonomías que menos trabajo desde casa hicieron en 2019.

Tanto hombres como mujeres de 35 a 44 en España son los que más teletrabajaron en 2020-21

A lo largo de todo el periodo analizado en el estudio de TBS Education, prácticamente hay igualdad entre mujeres y hombres que teletrabajaron. En el segundo trimestre de 2020 y en el cuarto de 2021, son los periodos donde más mujeres teletrabajaron que hombres, en el resto, hubo un mayor número de hombres trabajando en casa que de mujeres, pero las diferencias son menores.

Las personas entre 35 a 44 años son las que más teletrabajan en 2020-21

Tanto los hombres como las mujeres de 35 a 44 en España son las que más trabajaron en 2020 y 2021, con un porcentaje de teletrabajadores entre 28 y 34%. Entre el segundo trimestre del 2020 y el cuarto trimestre del 2021, se puede ver que el grupo que más aumento tuvo en teletrabajo fue el de 25 a 34 años, de 19.4% a 21.5% por 2.1 puntos porcentuales. En cambio, el grupo que experimentó mayor decrecimiento fue el de los españoles de 55 años y más de 17.5% a 14.4% por un valor de 3.1 puntos porcentuales.
